I don't like to say I have given my life to art.
I prefer to say art has given me my life.
Why Art Therapy?
As a child, art was imperative to my survival. I endured multiple traumas and losses, including the death of my mother due to alcoholism when I was only 8 years old. Growing up as a motherless daughter, without a father and with grandparents who were ill, I have first hand experience of what it is like to have to grow up at an early age and mourn the loss of a childhood. As an adolescent struggling with depression, addiction, and at that time, undiagnosed ADHD and PTSD, the one constant in my life was art and any creative outlet. As an adult, through my own counseling process, I was able to use art therapy, traditional talk therapy and energy healing techniques to overcome my demons. Since art therapy, counseling and energy healing were so helpful in my own healing process, I knew helping others through these healing forms was my soul's calling.
Growing up, I was always interested in things that were considered "not normal", including things that were not always visible to the human eye. After experiencing multiple paranormal incidences after multiple deaths of close loved ones, including my mother, I began researching all that was not perceivable to the human eye. Things that are not perceived by our human eyes are perceived through our energetic senses and third eye. This is where the name Visions comes from, as we are all capable of perceiving and healing on an energetic level.
Metaphysical and energy based modalities are also beneficial when other healing methods have failed in the past. I have personal experience with this after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2012, when traditional types of healing failed to return my health. It was then that I began researching more holistic treatments, such as chakra work and crystal therapy. Throughout my life, but especially over the past ten years, I have studied all things metaphysical, transpersonal and energy-based on my own, through classes in the Cleveland area, through online classes and through the University of Metaphysical Sciences.
My primary specialty is the treatment of trauma through the use of art therapy and energy-based techniques. Most of the individuals who come to me for treatment have tried other forms of therapy in the past, only to have it fail. They find success with alternative forms of treatment and often feel a renewed sense of wholeness. Often times, the treatment of trauma also includes the treatment of abandonment, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and codependency. Research has found that trauma is stored in the part of the brain that is non-verbal. Art therapy provides the perfect opportunity to access this area of the brain to provide relief and healing.
Other specialties include all things spirituality based, including education on the chakras and chakra healing, what it means to be an Empath and how to cope with being an Empath, normalizing after death communication and experiences, past life exploration, astrology and natal chart exploration, intuitive and psychic ability training, learning to cope with chronic pain and autoimmune disease, women's issues, self-awareness and adjustment issues. I also have experience working with transgendered individuals. If you feel like we might be a good fit, don't hesitate to contact me today!
